Tom Fox
Tom Fox, Director of Fox Friendship Enterprises, has spent more than five years in Vietnam, speaks Vietnamese, and has been married to aVietnamese social worker, Kim Hoa, for 37 years.
He is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a master's degree in Asian Studies from Yale University.
In 1965, at the age of 21, Fox volunteered to joint the International Voluntary Services, a private, non-profit organization working in Vietnam. There he worked from 1966 to 1968 with displaced farmers, taken by the war from their native villages. He eventually became director of the IVS refugee program. The story of his work in Vietnam was captured in an article written by a colleague, Arthur Jones.
